The club played Stevenage away in the Herts Friendly league on Saturday 21/06/2014. The side, which were captained by Roger Parsons lost by 14 points - Panshanger 186 to Stevenage 200. The top scorers for Panshanger were Roger Parsons and Steve Pitch with 43 points.
The third event of the Captains Prize competition was won by Mike Harris with 41 points. Tom Cawley came 2nd with 38 points, ahead of Gerard Guildea who also had 38 points. The Captains Prize is being run over 4 competitions with the player with the best combined 3 stableford scores chosen from the 4 events becoming the winner of the Captains Prize. The reward will be £100 worth of vouchers for the Club Shop with £50 of vouchers going to second place. The final Captains Prize competition event will be held on the 10/08/2014 alongside the Herns Plaque Major.
The scratch team played their 5th game against Batchwood GC on Saturday and won the match 4 1/2 - 3 1/2. After losing 3 of the first 4 singles matches the match was won with victories from Carl Howes, Steve Garwood, Mike Harris and Phil Bawden with a further half point from Jody Parsons securing the win.
The Third round of the Clapham common for Panshanger B has been arranged for the 20/07/14 against Basildon A with the winners progressing to the area final. The competitors are as follows: Home team -Calum Matheson, Alan Oliver, Geoff walker, Phil Neville. Away team - Des Bartley, Ryan Bartley, Scot Cox, Lee Isherwood. Reserves Jody parsons, Dave Carr.
The greens have been scarified twice this week and for those of you wondering what this is, it is a liner aeration technique that removes the organic thatch build up on the greens, helping to get to the desired smooth playing surface. On top of this, the green mowers have been reduced from 5mm to 4mm so you will see a smoother roll and the pace starting to increase.

In July, Panshanger will be hosting the Summer Meeting of the prestigious Hertfordshire Lady Golf Captain's day. On Monday 7th July, while the Tour de France cyclists are making an early start from Cambridge, via Essex to London, nearly ninety current or past Lady Captains of Golf Clubs in Hertfordshire will be making their way from all over the county here to Panshanger.
Their first tee time is at 12.00 noon. They will be starting from both the 1st and the 10th tees, so the course will be dominated by the ladies wearing their distinctive blue and yellow Society colours.
