This week saw the 'pick up' of the old buggies and delivery of the new Yamaha Buggies. I think you will agree they look great with the logos and numbers.
There is also another addition coming soon but I will keep you waiting for that news until nearer the time.
The Scratch Team were away at Essendon on Saturday. The match was played on the old course and Essendon were comfortable winners on their own track. The result was 7.5-0.5 with Geoff Walker obtaining the only half point of the match for Panshanger. Apart from Geoff's half point the other highlight was Mike Harris holing his second shot for an eagle from 168 yards on the par 4 8th hole.
The winner of the Johnson Trophy on Sunday was Scott Cox with nett 70 and his handicap was cut by one shot to 8. This competition was held in conjunction with the NAPGC Men's Championship of England. The next round will be on Saturday July 5th at Stockwood Park and qualifiers will be notified as soon as possible.
Representing the Seniors this week were Bob Moon & Don Preece. They beat Berkhamstead 3&1 in the second round of the Crameri Cup. Their next round opponents are still to be decided but hopefully another home draw would give them the edge to progress to the next round, good luck.
The club have recently donated £635 to Diabetes UK which is the Captain's Charity again this year. This represents a lot of balls going into the Captains Charity bunker on the 18th and some extra donations from club members. Thank you for your continued support!
The greens have been perking up and starting to roll nicely. There are still a couple of areas that will need re-dressing but this will be done by hand and will not affect playability.
Next week we be applying some weed killer to tees, fairways and rough which will eliminate any weeds or clover that has been appearing. We will also be keeping on top of the cutting. With the wet warm weather the grass is growing extremely quickly.
